Here is a great American Ship clock that was made by Seth Thomas for your buying consideration. Would make a great gift or keep for yourself.
Just a beautiful brass case on this clock. Lots of patina. Would guess the clock dates to just before the WWII period. Has "K478" impressed on the back of the case. The U.S. Shipping Board only had a brief life span operating between January 1917 and 1933, when it was replaced by the U.S. Maritime Commission in 1936.
The bezel is securely attached to the rest of the case. Flat glass in the bezel is intact. Just some minor surface scratching to the glass, no cracks or blistering.
The clock has been running since we acquired it. This is a time only clock. The spring feels sound on the movement when keyed. So, selling the clock in running condition at this juncture. The clock will come with a wind key.
The clock face shows some discoloration, fading, and cracking from age and is intact. The clock has both its minute and hour hands as well as the seconds hand. The clocksbrass case is 16-15/16" across, by 3-7/16" tall. The face is 5-9/16" across. Let us know if you have any questions or need additional pictures.
As can be expectedwhen dealing with an antique clock, some adjustments may be needed aftershipping to get the clock re-running correctly again as they can be verydelicate. If you have not had experience with old mechanical clocksbefore, I would suggest you steer clear. One really needs to have thepatience, and skill to work with these great works of art. They are notour modern plug in and go, or change the battery clocks. Please ask anyquestions relating to this matter, before you decide to purchase it.

We take great pride in is our wrapping to ensure that yourorder is safely shipped to you. Youmight find our shipping costs higher than other sellers, but it is due to theextra time, packing care, and materials we utilize. Of over 2,000 packages shipped in the last 2 years, wehad only five items with issues, a 99.8% damage free delivery rate. Keep in mind, we are not shipping soft goods, like shirts orpants. We are shipping vintage/antique items that are fragile and requirespecial care.
We also obtain insurance on any item that was bought for $50or more, and require signature on delivery for items that are valued at over$200. Plus we have to pay the 11.75% ofthe final value and shipping fees that eBay and PayPal charges.
Returns Policy
- Returns are accepted by seller within 30 days of receipt of item by buyer. The Buyer will be assessed a 15% restocking fee of the Item and Shipping Cost should they decide to return this item for whatever the reason..
- Pleasenote that a restocking fee is charged toto cover costs related to the loss of listing time and other potential sales, plus the amount of care and time that goes into preparing our unique and fragile items for shipping.
- In compliance with eBays buyer protection program, the purchase price plus original shipping costwill berefunded to the buyer once the item has beenreceived by the seller, minus the 15% restocking fee noted.
- Buyer would pay for thereturn shipping cost and any applicable insurance cost (item is buyers financial responsibility until safely returned to the seller).
