Brand new, in box, vintage The NOID toy from 1988!
100% authentic!
This has never been opened and is New Old Stock (NOS) but the box and clear window does have some visible and obvious flaws (marks, dents, fading, creasing, nicks, chipping etc.), as well as the back section (which is how it was designed). Please view all pictures for reference.
Although the box has a lot of flaws, the toy looks to be immaculate.
There could potentially be some fading to the toy from the clear window but from what I can see, it looks great
Amazing vintage collectible for any fan or collector!
There are some texts in the box that say:
“Pizza Crusher!”
“Avoid the Noid!”
“Bustin' Out!”
This is a foam/rubber toy that is classified as a finger puppet. This can be used in a variety of ways not just as a puppet and looks great as a display piece (even though the box is in rough shape). The foam is still soft and bouncy since it can be felt on the back.
This was part of the Fingertronic Puppet Theatre line brought to you by Suttons Happening Inc. There were a handful of others that were made in pop culture during that time but this is by far the rarest.
This is the only one (the Noid version) currently for sale on eBay so feel free to reach out with any questions!
As alluded to above, on the back of the box, the finger holes are exposed as this was the design to allow potential customers to experience how the toy world work.
Because of the this, there is some minor visible flaws like creasing, fading, etc. Please see pictures for reference
There are three copyrights on the box:
-Copyright 1988 Bendy Toys LTD.
-Copyright 1988 Sutton's Happening, Inc.
-Copyright 1988 Domino's Pizza, Inc.
Please see the following approximate measurements of the box:
-9 inches high
-5 inches wide
-4 inches deep.
Again, this is a vintage toy that has never been taken out of the box. I took a close up of the actually plastic tag that is still attached inside the box.
Please be advised that this is vintage and there are some visible flaws to the box. Please view all pictures for reference.
Comes from a pet free and smoke free home.
I ship USPS Priority Mail.
Feel free to make an offer!
Additional context:
The Noid is an advertising character for Domino's Pizza created in the 1980s and briefly revived several times. Clad in a red, skin-tight, rabbit-eared body suit with a black N inscribed in a white circle on his chest, the Noid is a physical manifestation of all the challenges in delivering a pizza within 30 minutes. Though persistent, his efforts are repeatedly thwarted.
The Noid was created in 1986 by Group 243, the advertising agency of record for Domino's Pizza.[citation needed] Group 243 hired Will Vinton Studios to sketch the Noid and animate the advertisements[1][4][5][6] using claymation.[7] Advertisements use the slogan "Avoid the Noid". His vocal effects were provided by Pons Maar.[2] Most of the advertisements were narrated by Andre Stojka.
In 1988, a Saturday morning cartoon series called The Noids was planned by CBS, but was canceled amid complaints that it was merely an advertising ploy and not a show for children.[8]
As part of the advertising campaign, a computer game was released in 1989 called Avoid the Noid. The object of the game is to deliver a pizza within a half-hour time limit in an apartment building swarming with Noids (some of which are armed with pizza-seeking missiles or water balloons). In 1990, Capcom released a platform game, Yo! Noid, for the Nintendo Entertainment System, where the Noid was portrayed as a pizza-consuming hero instead.
