This work is a wonderfully presented facsimile of Shakespeares comedy, As You Like It, printed by permission of the Oxford Edition. With a summary of the story included, as well as the play itself.
Heavily illustrated throughout, with forty tipped-in colour plates by Irish illustrator, Hugh Thomson, who was best known for his pen-and-ink drawings of works by authors such as Charles Dickens and Jane Austen. Alongside the colour plates in this work, there are a number of these pen-and-ink illustrations, including a decorative title page. Collated, complete.
With a bookplate of Ismay Lucretia Mary Ramsay, daughter of the 14th Viscount Gormanston, to the front paste down.
CONDITION
In the original publishers green cloth binding, with decorative gilt design to the front board. Externally, excellent, with light rubbing to the extremities and to the joints. Marks to the spine. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Bookplate to the front endpaper. Light offsetting and the odd spot to the endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean, with the odd handling mark.
