Discontinued original castoreum-based 1978 scent: Van Cleef & Arpels Pour Homme 75ml - Eau De Toilette Vintage Fragrance.

1. This is the ORIGINAL 1978 fragrance
2. There has been between 3 and 6 fragrance "reformulations" which involved the use of amber-nuanced isobutyl quinoline (new scent) over the classic intense more natural castoreum based oils (original) providing the leather, oakmoss, and earthy vetiver fragrances. This isnt an issue if you like the reformulation!
3. This original scent stopped being the formula in the nineties/ early 2000s.
4. All formulations after the nineties smelled completely different
Reluctant sale as the original scent is super hard to find.

A good "rule of thumb" is the packaging. The original scent tends to be packaged in the two-tone, black and grey box. The reformulations tended to come with 1stly; black and golden brown lattice packaging, then with all black packaging. There was was a crossover but in the main, the classic scent had the two-tone black and grey "u" on the front.
Over 30 yrs old!!! Vintage and Pristine (for 30yrs - has some scuffs from prolonged storage) - see edges of box in photographs.
