This is a Glasgow Rangers 2002/2003 shirt signed by the 2003/2004 squad plus Paul Gascoigne.
As a hobby mainly around the 2003 - 2005 period, my dad went around the UK getting signed sports memorabilia at training grounds, hotels players were staying at and events (such as book/shirt signings, after dinner events etc).
I cant say for certain where and when my dad got this signed, although Im fairly sure it was at some point in late 2003 or 2004. Ronald de Boer signed it and he left for Qatar at the end of the 2003 2004 season. I have a feeling it was signed either at the Manchester United vs Glasgow Rangers game on 04 November 2003 or at event of some sort around the same time. I think Egil Ostenstad signed the shirt and his contract got terminated I think before the season ended. I suspect it was at an event given that Gazza signed it. Cant say for certain though.
My dad liked getting photographed with players if possible, but I cant find any in relation to this shirt.
There are 24 signatures on this shirt.
I have listed all the names below. The numbers match the numbers Ive put on the attached photos. There are a few whose signatures I dont know.
Stefan Klos signed the shirt twice by accident.
1. Shota Arveladze
2. Bob Malcolm
3. Zurab Khizanishvili
4. Stephen Hughes
5. Allan McGregor
6. Steven Thompson
7. Paul Gascoigne
8. Michael Mols
9. Egil Ostenstad (probably his signature. Looks a lot like his. Just wary of saying its him for certain as he left sometime around January/March 2004)
10. Craig Moore
11. Alex McLeish
12. Henning Berg
13. Michael Ball
14. Stefan Klos
15. Peter Lovenkrands
16. ?
17. Emerson
18. Stefan Klos
19. Chris Burke
20. ?
21. Maurice Ross
22. Paolo Vanoli
23. ?
24. Ronald De Boer
16 is very distinctive and even has a squad number below which Im pretty certain is "36". Ive checked the records and there was no player with that squad number for that season. I cant match it to any player from that squad. I have a feeling this is possibly Andy Dowie. He did feature that season and was in the squad for that game against Manchester United at Old Trafford. He did previously have the number 36 squad number in a previous season.
20 & 23 - couldnt even guess on either of these. Theyre distinctive, but I cant match them to anyone in the squad. Its possible (given that Gazza has signed the shirt) that its 2 older notable players but if so, no idea who they are.
The still has its original tags as well. Gorgeous shirt with silver pen signatures. Fair play to the Rangers lads as they really took care over the signatures to make them look good.
Will look fantastic framed. Somebody else bought a very similar Glasgow Rangers shirt from me last year and got it framed. Looked amazing.
