In a contemporary reverse calf binding. Held in a custom case.
This work was originally compiled by John Paul, who was a barrister at law and published several legal tracts.
With the publishers leaves to the rear of the first and second works.
Both volumes have been revised and corrected in accordance to the current times at the time of publishing, by John Irving Maxwell.
Thee works look at the laws of estates, descents, leases, churchwardens, the poor, highways and more at the start of the nineteenth century.
A useful guide to the laws at the time of publication.
CONDITION
In a full reverse calf binding. Externally, rubbed to the spine and extremities. Small ring mark to the front board. A modern spine label has been adhered. Splits to the joints, with the hinges slightly strained. Contemporary inscriptions to the front pastedown and to the recto of front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Closed tear to the centre of page 63 from the gutter. Pages are generally bright. Loosely inserted are several leaves which have caused minor offsetting. Odd spots.
